Statement on Fatal Pepperell Crash
From the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office:
District Attorney Marian Ryan and Pepperell Chief of Police David Scott have confirmed that Jack Wilbur a 21-year-old Pepperell man has died following a crash last night.
At approximately 8:38 p.m. on June 22, the decedent was traveling on his motorcycle on Shirley Street in Pepperell. At the intersection of Shirley Street and Mount Lebanon a second vehicle, a sedan, was turning on to Shirley Street. The preliminary investigation suggests the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his motorcycle and came into contact with the sedan. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on scene. The decedent was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Pepperell Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. No charges have been filed and no additional information is being released at this time.
